Transport and movement is a common part of any organizational requirements, and arguably presents the greatest exposure to risk. The ability to understand, establish and maintain an effective fleet management system to ensure effective travel risk management processes, vehicle maintenance and management systems, and a safe driver instructor training program – with supporting safe driver skills and standards – is vitally important. Their role is pivotal in terms of identifying, evaluating and addressing humanmade threats and natural disasters, building the risk management and business continuity standards and practices needed to control risks for their operating area and activities, and in leading the immediate and long-term response to risks which threaten people, operations, facilities, assets and information; and critically, in protecting the wider business interests and reputation of their organization. These senior leaders also direct security professionals or focal points in the day to day management of security and safety activities, and so need to have a strong basis of understanding of security risk management. And, the role is often responsible for the safety of staff during travel, including ensuring effective road safety measures are in place. This comprehensive range of learning areas is designed to support leaders working from benign to high-risk and complex environments to understand, address and react to safety and security risks.

Fatality and repatriation management, 13. Kidnap, ransom and hostage situations, 14. Imminent severe natural hazards, 15. Pandemic and serious infectious disease outbreaks, 16. Serious injuries and mass casualty events, 17. Natural disaster events, and 18. Youth related incidents.

Small and short-term deployed teams face risks when working abroad, and often no appointed or trained lead on safety and security is defined to manage risks and respond to an emergency situation. Developing the knowledge and skills by which to plan for and manage risks as a team, and respond to an emergency effectively – while acting as the bridge between the point of the incident and the headquarters team can be critically important. This course provides 2hrs of learning within 3 mandatory courses and up to 2hrs of learning within 2 elective courses with 4 HRCI and SHRM credits. The ability to offer first aid support to sick or injured individuals, especially in a remote region distanced from medical support, or where a crisis has occurred and medical first responders are unable to provide immediate support, can make the difference between a life and death situation. This training provides casualty stabilization awareness training to enable managers and staff to understand the simple techniques by which to stabilize causalities until professional medical help arrives; even when first aid assets and equipment may not be available. This first aid training course helps organizations develop internal capacity, allowing staff to assess the status of a casualty and provide life stabilizing treatment. During crisis events where multiple causalities may occur this training also looks at casualty prioritization. The course covers: An Introduction to First Aid and Casualty Stabilization Bleeding and Blood Loss Management Burn Injuries Breaks and Fractures CPR Casualty Management Mass Casualty Situations and TRIAGE Environmental Hazards (Hot and Cold Weather Injuries) Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This course is designed to meet the needs of standard first aid training, but uniquely, to also address the requirements of casualty stabilization in remote locations far from medical support. RSM has developed a module specifically on PTSD awareness to help staff and family members understand the signs, symptoms and self-help measures which can be used following traumatic events, and measures that can practically be taken to minimize the risk of developing PTSD where staff know they are traveling to areas that may present significant emotional challenge.
